Actively working since 2007, The Bloody Beetroots, aka Bob Rifo and Tommy Tea, have started with a bunch of remixes characterized by electro-punk, acid and schizoid sound.
Many think about them as another clone of Justice or Boys Noize, some other mellower listener forces the big potentials of this duo that loves to show itself to the public masked like Venom. Alex Gopher and Etienne De Crecy, the godfathers of “French Touch” realise that and let their EPs (respectively “The Game” and “Funk”) go through the “beetroots’ treatment”. Two monster remixes come out of these tracks: an apotheosis of riff-a-rama with growing handclaps and charleston... heavy stuff.
Incredibly almost everybody from the French scene fall in love with the Beetroots.
In a few weeks follow studio collaborations with Rinôçérôse and an impressing series of remixes (28 in one year) for Fox n’ Wolf, The Whip, Les Petits Pilous, South Central, Naïve New Beaters, Audioporno, Cazals within the other.
A bootleg version of “Maniac” (from Flashdance) unexpectedly receives the compliments from its author, Michael Sembello.
By the end of 2007 a promo vinyl with the friends Crookers make its appearance creating disorders in the house scene: The Bloody Beetroots remake a hyper futuristic-disco version of the then last release of Timbaland's ”Miscommunication” turns into “Discommunication”.
It’s the panic factor: DJs and producers like MSTRKRFT, Kissy Sell Out, Steve Aoki, Adam Freeland, Martin Solveig (C'est La Vie), Mixhell, Erol Alkan and Justice list The Bloody Beetroots within their favourite producers.
In the meantime three other unknown tracks from TBB are chosen for the TV serial: “CSI Miami”, while the remix of “Escape” from the French artist The Toxic Avenger becomes the main track for a very famous console game.
TBB become, within a few months, the real big worldwide “blog stars”, requested by the main clubs and festivals in Europe, US and Australia.
Their live DJ sets are a perfect and original blend between rave party and punk concert.
The debut album of TBB will be published before the end of 2008.
